  • WPhost sends HTTP requests and monitors for SSL errors around the clock 24/7/365 checking your website.
  • If no response is received, another HTTP request is sent (in case of a false positive).
  • If no response is received again, we send another two requests in parallel from two random and remote locations.
  • If these two remote requests fail to get a response then notification alerts are instantly triggered.

24/7 uptime monitoring alerted on-call engineers to a site that was being spammed by three abusive IP addresses originating from the USA, Germany and Singapore. We used the AbuseIPDB database to identify the malicious IP addresses and immediately blocked them.

WPhost engineers found that increased visitor traffic hitting uncached pages was exhausting a site’s memory allocation. We immediated boosted the site’s memory dedicated to PHP and increased the number of PHP workers assigned to the site.

A WPhost client registered for 24/7 high availability uptime monitoring updated their Yoast SEO plugin causing a fatal error. The on-call team investigated to find a plugin conflict between the Yoast and WooCommerce plugins. We installed a fresh version of WooCommerce to restore the site.

Our operations team found that the client’s domain was not resolving correctly at the domain registry. We contacted the Registrar on behalf of the client who resolved the issue on their side.

The WPhost operations team was alerted to a brute force attack affecting the login page of a client’s site. We immediately took action by moving the login page to a secret URL and advised the client of the new secure login path.

The WPhost on-call team identified bots attacking a site’s login page. As engineers blocked the malicious bots, hackers would immediately attack from new IP addresses. Our engineers installed Wordfence on the site and moved the domain’s DNS to Cloudflare enabling Cloudflare’s Bot Fight Mode.
